Our training center is a truly unique experience with 4 key elements.

The Methodology: The CrossFit Philosophy is synonymous with a modern revolution in fitness and the PRAXIS Methodology is defining the processes to maximize the CrossFit Philosophy in a constant evolution of one of the most comprehensive, orthopedically sound, scientifically based and performance driven training systems.

Praxis - Greek for "to do": The exercise or practice of an art or skill. The work we embrace, wrestle, absorb into the cells of our bodies and continually seek to define even while it more readily defines us - is our praxis.

The Tribe: PRAXIS athletes are different. They take ownership of their program and preparation in ways other athletes don’t.

The Coaching: Passionate and innovative coaching is at the core of the PRAXIS program. PRAXIS athletes form close relationships with the coaches based on trust and results.

The Program: The PRAXIS training program is never static. Founder Joey Powell and the other PRAXIS coaches are constantly refining and improving the program based on data from research, training cycles, other sport coaches and the athletes themselves.

Praxis Athletics/CrossFit Prescott is a high performance training center, not an open gym, so our prices reflect this. This our SANCTUARY. Our AGOGE. This is not a “Boot Camp” for you to make-believe you are in the military for an hour a day. This is personal to us. Quality is our sole measuring stick. We train athletes. We train professionals looking for more than just a sweat. We train individuals looking to be strong and fit. We are experts at biomechanics and progressionary fitness.


Our common bond is the desire to get better. We challenge the body and mind’s ability to get better through hard work, overcoming adversity and change. Change is not comfortable. Our goal is fitness through strength and capacity. We are not content to just look good. Looking good naked is a byproduct. Words like “comfortable” and “soft” are not in our vocabulary. Phrases such as “this is not for me” and “I can’t do that!” are not in our vernacular.


We wish we could say it was easy. Would you want it if it was? There are no shortcuts. We do not know how to get you better without deliberate, hard work. If you find a way, please contact us.
